Today is my 30th birthday. For some reason, I kind of stressed about this day off and on since I celebrated my 25th birthday. I think it was because 1 month after I turned 25, Steve celebrated his 30th birthday. But, now it is here... it is my turn to enter a whole new category. I am no longer ‘in my twenties’. And I am totally okay with it. I am even more okay with the thirties thing when I think about where I am in life. I have a fantastic husband (totally awesome), 3 beautiful children (way beautiful in my opinion), and lots of wonderful family. And I am so thankful that I can take all that I have learned the last 30 years, and grow even more in the next 30 years. Thank you Lord for all that you have done for me!!
Today should be a fun day... yesterday Steve & Elizabeth made me a cake... chocolate through and through. (What else is there?) Then Elizabeth & Anna helped Steve to decorate it. It cracks me up how when Anna is just helping to decorate a cake, she can still get so messy!
We will have our Sunday fellowship time (aka Church), and then a spaghetti lunch. We will be eating the best spaghetti in our whole city of 1.5 million... at MY house. (I don’t even think there is any other spaghetti, so I win hands down). Then the yummy cake that my dear loved ones made.
I will post more tonight, unless we just have tooo much fun partying and I am worn out at my old age.
Update: Today has been a wonderful day. We had a good time of fellowship this morning together, then we all made our yummy spaghetti meal. That was followed by our super, delicious, fantastic, I-didn’t-have-to-cook-it chocolate cake. Then we opened presents. The ladies from Kansas who are here with us, made sure that I had 30 presents to open. How fantastic was that. They were very creative and split a few items up to make sure it was 30. But with Elizabeth & Anna’s help, we opened it all, and all 30 items were from America. That was truly wonderful! We then played a round of Settlers of Catan. (Steve & I took turn playing so we could help keep the kids entertained.) I didn’t win... you would think they would let me win because it is my birthday - right? ha!
Now things are quiet around the house and I hope that Steve will wash the post dinner dishes and we can get the kids in bed early and maybe have a movie night. What a wonderful day!
Oh - and as a gift to me, Steve made me a fun video! Here it is - hope you enjoy! I sure did!
Here are some photos from the day!
