11 months! We are just one month away from birthday time! Luke has no idea what’s around the corner!
Luke has had a good month even with getting 3 more teeth! He now has 8 teeth, and I believe that passes all the kids! (of course it beats out my girls as they didn’t get any teeth until close to a year).
Luke is quite a speedy crawler, and cruises right long on the couch, but isn’t yet walking! I think he will be more like Anna, waiting until after his 1st birthday to walk. He occasionally will try letting go and stand for just a quick second, but that’s the extent of it. I am thankful that he isn’t like Elizabeth (and Hope) and running around my house at this age! We are busy enough! He has tried out the walking toy a few times, but usually resorts back to using a stool or small chair to push and help him walk along.
He is a pro at going up the 2 stairs in our apartment, and I really don’t worry about him coming up at all. He has always stopped at the edge and hasn’t ever attempted to go down, but we have to watch carefully. I know it is coming when he will get more daring and take a nose dive down.
It is ironic that he is the worst eater in the bunch. All these teeth for eating solids and he still won’t eat them!
Everything about eating remains about the same, he has started eating a few of the crackers I give him vs his suck and spit method, but he still will only eat his homemade baby food when I make sure it is perfectly pureed. We are still at 4 bottles a day, and though I realize that is too many, and he should drop his 10am feeding… I have a ‘if it’s not broke’ mentality going on. It is working for us and I don’t want to throw anything off!
Luke is a good sleeper… he loves to snuggle in his bed with a bear and his blanket. He still goes down with his pacifier and I am not in a hurry to remove that either! He goes to bed between 7:30-8. (Depending on how slow he is taking his nighttime bottle). Then he usually gets up about 7-7:30am. He still does his 2 solid naps a day.
Luke is defintely not a snuggler. When he wakes up from his nap, he immediately wants out of his crib and when I try to hold him close and snuggle he pushes away so he can look for a sibling, or whatever action might be going on. He loves to be held, but just not too close! He has a big fear of missing ANYTHING. And it keeps him busy as the action abounds in our home! I think with his personality he would have been a miserable only child!
He is not the biggest extrovert – he loves those who come to our home daily… but people he doesn’t see all the time he don’t get such a warm reception from him. He adores our house helper and will follow her all over the house!
